College Horticulture Scholarship
In 1998, The CIS created an endowed scholarship with the Foundation of CPCC (Central Piedmont Community College). Income from this endowment is used to provide tuition and assistance to a student in the Horticulture Program of the college. The first partial scholarship award was presented in the 2001-2002 school year. Additional funds are available each subsequent year.

The CIS Board planted the Carrie Winter Memorial Garden at the Betty Little House of The Charlotte Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. in Charlotte, NC in 2019. This garden was built to posthumously recognize Carrie’s devotion to The Charlotte Iris Society – as a judge, officer and Convention Chair.
